I cannot believe it has been over a week ago that this happened and it is still not on hive 105!!! I wanna know why not? I want to leave this county myself. I know that where ever you go, there is going to be racism. But, to just mention it and let it go, is insane!!! I want to know what is being done? I want to know how are the Lays doing? I want a follow up on this story, and more important, I just do not want to see this "let go" and dismissed.

It is kind of strange that none of your local news media has said much about this. I read your HIVE105, KNOXNEWS.COM.,Independent Herald and Scott County News . Scott County News mentioned it, once none of the others said anything. So why the silence? Is the local media trying to cover it up? What has the sheriff found? How close are the authorities to breaking this case? It will be interesting to see how it is handled.

It seems that way doesn't it? I mean the "cover up" theory.
I find it positively disgusting that no more coverage of this has been made and that not very many people are discussing it.

Wow. I can't believe it. I just checked the online version of the Independent Herald and you guys are right, there's no mention of the cross burning incident. The Hive105 has yet to post anything about it on their news site either.

Someone said they didn't want to encourage anybody by making a big deal about it, or something to that effect. I'm not sure if that was the right approach. To the rest of the world it probably looks as if a cross burning isn't even newsworthy in Scott County.

We can't turn a blind eye to this. I encourage all of you to write a letter to the editor of the Independent Herald, and contact the Hive to let them know how disappointed you are in their lack of coverage.

You can send an e-mail to Ben Garrett, editor of the Independent Herald at bengarrett@highland.net. Paul Roy is the publisher, and his address is proy@highland.net. Or call 423-569-6343. Their mailing address is: 19391 Alberta Street, Oneida, TN 37841.

You can e-mail the Hive105 at wbnt@highland.net, or call 423-569-9268. Hillard Mattie owns the station. I believe Paul Strunk is still the news director. Their mailing address is: P.O. Box 4370, Oneida, TN 37841-4370.

A lot of folks are outraged over the fact that WBNT has not reported on this, nor to my knowledge neither has the Independent Herald.I challenge someone from these two media outlets to explain to the citizens of Scott County why they have chosen not to report on this horrific crime.

My sincerest sympathies to the Lay family. I hope they can find a place to call home that will treasure and nurture their grandchildren.

The refusal of the Independent Herald and WBNT to report on this event is shameful and inexplicable, and should be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

I heard that the Office of Civil Rights has been investigating at Scott High. That may or may not be true because it was sort of "I heard it from someone who heard it from someone who heard it from someone else." I wonder if it's true and if it is true I wonder if it's related to this case :?:

I read this article today about a man who was convicted of burning a cross in an interracial family's yard in Anderson County and it reminded me that justice has not yet been done in the Robbins case. I wonder if there were ever any leads?
